My family and I had the pleasure of joining captain Eduardo and his boatsman Fernando on a lovely, extended morning's tour of the Palomino Islands. A wonderful experience of nature and the history of the area, as told by our guide Eduardo, whose English was very good. Not only has the area many animal treasures, as we were able to experience up close and personal, but the recent history of Peru is inextricably linked to events that took place in the area around the islands, from export of fertiliser to events with the Shining Path terrorists. We can recommend this trip to all, as it is provides a very different view of 'the land of the Incas'. Eduardo made us feel very safe with the kids, despite a rough sea on one of the sides of the island. We all got wet with the sealions, which is a unique experience.
